How To Link Your Aadhaar Card For LPG Subsidy

Many people know that there is a conscious effort by the Central Government to link Aadhaar card with the LPG connection. It is said that subsidies that were hitherto paid to the companies who sold the gas cylinders to customers at subsidized rates will now directly be credited to the bank account of the consumer concerned on booking the cylinder.

But the advantage will be available to the consumers only if they have linked their Aadhaar card with their bank account. Thus the pertinent question is how to link the card to LPG connection and bank account. Pertinent question is how to link Aadhaar card with bank account and LPG connection? This is a precondition for Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme for LPG. That means, to get subsidized LPG one needs to become Cash Transfer Compliant Customer or CTC.

Prerequisites for linking Aadhaar card with the LPG are as follows.

Consumer should have LPG connection in his or her name.

The consumer should also have an Aadhaar Card.

The consumer needs to submit application in Form No.1.

One can download the form from the website of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Forms can also be obtained from the LPG distributor or from the newspaper advertisement of UIDAI.

Consumer needs to link the bank account with Aadhaar Card. To do this the 12 digit Adhaar card number should be linked with it.

Linking can be done by visiting the bank branch or the distributor. In the later case the application can be put in the drop box.

Submitting the application personally in the bank would be the better way since the bank will offer the receipt.

After all these steps are completed, the next and final step would be linking the LPG to Aadhaar card with the LPG consumer number. This time the consumer will need two things; the name of the distributor and the LPG consumer number. This number is available on the first page of DGCC booklet or recent receipt of cylinder. If the address on the Aadhaar card varies from the address with LPG distributor a photocopy of the address proof and identity proof will suffice for linking.
